Message from the President |

|
On behalf of the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the
Alabama State Bar and its Executive Committee, I welcome
you to the Alabama State Bar and I congratulate you on
becoming a member of the Alabama State Bar. I also thank
the many existing young lawyer members of the Alabama
State Bar. |

Who Is Involved in the YLS? |
|
|
|
The YLS is comprised of all lawyers who are 36 years of
age and under or who have been admitted to the bar for 3
years or less. There are no dues and attorneys who are
members of the Alabama Bar and meet the age or admission
requirements are automatically members. |
|
|
|
Please visit the YLS website and familiarize yourself
with the various opportunities and programs the YLS
offers. The YLS website is located at www.alabamayls.org.
By clicking on the “Get Involved” tab, you can view a
listing and description of the various sub-committees of
the YLS. |

How to Get Involved in the YLS |

|
|
If you would like to get involved in one of the YLS
sub-committees, complete the online form and someone
from the YLS will contact you. |

Iron Bowl and Sandestin CLE Events |
|
|
|
The YLS will be hosting its Iron Bowl CLE on November
18, 2011 in Birmingham, Alabama. Go ahead and register
for your chance to gain some CLE hours and win a pair of
tickets to the Iron Bowl. In addition, mark your
calendar for and plan to attend the YLS CLE Seminar held
in Sandestin, Florida on May 17 – 20, 2012. |

Volunteering in YLS Sub-committees |
|
|
|
Volunteering in one of the various sub-committees or
participating in the events offered by the YLS provide
an excellent way to serve your community and network
with other members of the bar. I have gained much from
my involvement in the YLS and the opportunities that the
section has provided me. I encourage you to become
involved and participate in the YLS. |
|

|
